He stole money but they were "rich people" and they didn't need the money anyway so it's ok. F that. If I saw that green homo with a cape I'd spat in his face, kick his looter ass, and make sure he's sent to jail with the rest of the looters.

It depends on who he gave the money to. If it was poor people who couldn't work then he was a hero. If it was poor people who chose not to work then he was a villain.

Leaving out the fact that the people who were rich that were subject to the "Sherwood Forest tax" obtained the wealth by immoral/illegal means. Sort of like George Bush's grandfather, or JFK's father.

This. I understand it's a legend, but there is a lot of truth to the amount of corruption that was running through the church and the crown and how the common class was being treated. Anyone who tried to do something about that is a hero in my book.

The rich that he stole from was the king and his cronies. I don't think we need Robin Hoods today, just better law enforcement.
