My brother told me he has certain peoples posts automatically text to his phone when they put up a new post.....can this be done?....and if so how???

i dunno if you can get certain posters per se, but you can subscribe to threads and get email alerts, etc.

question probably best directed to one of the techs around here.

how do you subscribe to threads and get e mails..and r u subscribing to certain people in the threads or the whole thread?

alright, never done it before but i just tried it out. hope this helps.

at the top of every thread there is a link called thread tools. right under the box that says forum jump.

a list of three options will appear. select the last one "subscribe to thread".

you will be directed to a page confirm your subscription to the thread.

on that page you have the option to subscribe with no email updates, instant email updates (i'm assuming you get an email for every new post in the thread), daily email updates (one email per day with all new posts from that day), and weekly email updates.

they will be sent to whatever email you used to register here.

also, i don't think there is an option to subscribe to a poster's posts, just threads.

also, don't forget to confirm your subscription by clicking the button at the bottom, "add subscription".
