No I didn't win a seat. I am going to try one more time 2 days before the tourney at Red Rock in the last chance contest. If not, I will still be at the casino watching and capping the races. I live right down the street from the casino.Comment -
I'll be at the horse racing world series three weeks after. One one free roll and 500 expenses last year. In many ways its a better contest than the national championship. Or so I've been told by people who have been to both. Still I have a goal of getting to the national championship at least once.Comment -

good luck in that handicapping contest. but it is really a longshot stabbing contest that actually has nothing to do with handicapping. most of the players just look for the best longshot that has a marginal chance of winning and when one does about 50 players have it. good luck.Comment -
Jeff, hopefully you will swing by and I can meet another SBR member. Unusialsusp5, I agree a lot of luck is involved, but I have learned from playing in a bunch of tournaments this year that their is a strategy when you bet. I look for price, and the ONE contest I took first on, my longest shot on the board was an 11-1 shot.Comment -

Not sure how dated or valuable the info is but Stanford Wong wrote a book about horse racing that includes a few chapters about tournaments...
