Poker Stars has a huge variety of SNG's, tournaments, ring games, plenty of fish there. Some sharks too at the medium to higher levels.

Full Tilt Poker is another site but much less variety than Stars, although they offer Rakeback.

Unit size is 150ish. Bankroll currently about 4k in each of my 4 books.

I had started this fiscal year with 1k in each of the 4 books and have gotten to a point where I am comfortable despite my withdrawls.

              I usually have 500-1000 wagered a night...

                                Nonsense.

If you are making positive expectation plays and using a % based money management system (kelly) you can turn a very small bankroll into a good sized one in a couple of years.

I agree. One must stick to a money management system. Don't be fooled by "lock" posts or taking on bets that deviate from your MM system. Money Management is extremely important to be successful, IMHO. Now if you happen to follow someone who posts on this forum, you better learn quickly how to handicap your own games because eventually that good or great handicapper will be gone.

I don't know every ones take in life, but you have to think, once someone gets really successful at this, their days are numbered. They will soon be living in Vegas or doing whatever it is they want to do with their lives and will slowly drop away from SBR. Sure they may stop in to post a few times, but listing daily picks will be a thing of the past. So, for now, if you are following someone who is consistent, keep looking, learning, and trying to understand this wacky life of sport betting.

i guess most just play for fun. if your being serious about this and want to run this like a businees, you cant start on a shoe string. Would you open another business for such paltry sums.

Not knocking anyone that just enjoys having a little fun but no shot at the bigtime.

treat it just like any other business. you need start up capital or simply treat it like an investment but to make money (as in any endeavor) it takes money.

                                    carry on men.

btw: (20k) with (10k) in use and the other (10k) in reserve.

I think for a lot of us we are learning with a small amount we can afford to lose. What I do now I pretty much consider the same as using Virtualstockexchange or writing down trades. It just makes it easier to keep track of how you are doing and would be more realistic since it is real money on the line, even though it is a small amount.

I don't think a lot of people that are successful just jump into any business or investment without knowing much about it, same thing here.

20K if my BJO check clears..... if not then 16K. This month has not been kind to the bankroll. I'm still up on the year but have given back over 2K this month.

Minimum of 80 units, otherwise I reload to the required 100. Cash out at +20 units over 100. Currently have 117.5 units and hope Boston/NO-CLE U can both hang on so that I can cash out again tomorrow after a Thursday cashout last week. $50/u.
