In the Market for a new Laptop...MAC or PC?

don't overspend on a laptop.....this technology is developing on a monthly basis and when it breaks (it will trust me) and your warranty has expired, it is too expensive to repair..better to buy a new one with latest technology.

so look for value and with that in mind, mac has excluded themselves

If you know about the internal components of a computer and it's software then get a PC. If you're trendy, worried about looking cool, or interested in spending too much money for an inferior product and also not interested in having a computer do serious work, then get a MAC.

I have used both i would slightly lean pc because of cost/value, macs are nice too .

I think you need both, either dual booting or have separate machines okay. Also mac apps store is very nice, you should try.

i use a pc desktop and my girlfriends macbook laptop. i like my pc better, but i built it to do what i want of it. both have goods and bads. figure out what you like and get it.

Macs definitely cost more then their PC counterparts, but decide on what you like/need and then you will have your answer. I was only a PC guy for the longest time, but I would always buy a new laptop about every 1 1/2 year (to either improve specs or deal with issues that would be too costly to repair), but I gotta say my last 3 cpus were Macs and they just seem to last. Maybe I have better luck with them, but they just seem to be more robust.

If your budget is tight and you are mainly just surfing the web, etc., a pc is fine.

Laptops for windows much cheaper
Also if your just using for internet like most of us get a windows laptop

Apple does make best products though, not even a close second

If you are like most of us and just need a computer for SBR, gambling, and porn a cheap PC will work just fine for you...

If you want to look trendy at starbucks go with the mac...

This... I'm still running perfectly fine on my 6+ year old E-Machines, all I have ever done is added some ram 4 years ago and added a 2nd HD for more memory... only thing that went wrong with it so far is it stopped burning to CD/DVDs correctly... fixed that with a $50 purchase for a usb portable cd/dvd writer.

Run free virus/spyware protection and anytime I ever incounter something, I move everything to the 2nd HD that I need to keep and reinstall OS on the original HD... fresh start.

Mac and it's not even close. Everyone with a MAC used to have a PC and I bet 95% of them would never go back to a PC. While the people here who are pro-PC and bashing Macs have probably never even touched a Mac in there life.

most people do not use macs for what they are intended for

PC's much cheaper and most of us do not need a mac

Touched them, used them a bit and was selling computers when that that big all in one bitch came out with the one mouse button. Hated it. Still don't like them anytime I try them out.

I don't even know what the heck a mac is. I see stuff say it isn't mac compatible all the time though. I just need to check scores and email so pc for me.

they also released thunderbolt connectivity, which was supposed to be a pc dominated concept that pc didn't have the balls to get into with intel and now mac and intel are thicker than thieves

personally i run a mac with windows as well thru parallels

It's like asking what's better a Lexus or a Mercedez. hahaha. Macs are overpriced and have way less specs. Not too mention it's not open source and doesn't have flash. I hate Macs and apple and when people say they are better makes me want to throw up.
