Geezus... listen buddy, it pains a lot people who read this thread or any other thread to hear someone talk about gambling as an "alternative income". If you're stringing together a winning year and making money... fine. If you're making a living because you dedicate your life to gambling... fine, but please don't be so naive as to think something so unpredictable and set up for books to win and players to lose is going to make you an alternative income or you'll find yourself chasing and losing more than you know. Zam you make it sound way worse then it is I think... I'm not talking about trying to make 100k per year or anything. Dont really plan on doing any chasing. Slow and steady using good money management techniques and a person should be able to buy themselves something nice every once and a while. Maybe alternative income was the wrong phase to choose exactly.

Zam - My day job pay too well for me to give it up to pursue something as unpredicable as sportsbetting. A hobby most definately... Looking at the payouts does look like there are some people that make a decent amount of extra cash betting.

Vegas - I sometime think I might spend too much time reading on here but... I can already see it is starting to pay off as my Win percents are increasing.

Welcome!! As long as you keep thinking of this as a way to hopefully buy something nice once in awhile and not as your ticket to retirement by the time you're 35 then you'll be okay! Try to look at as many threads as you can about a certain game and then form your opinion based on what you'll feel comfortable putting your money on. No point giving control of your cash to a total stranger. Have a good time and ask questions but try not to get offended if a few people snap at you once in awhile. That has everything to do with them and nothing to do with you. And please share whatever insight you have although I know it's a bit daunting at first.

Oh - and if you see the words "Rubberband Play" in the title of a thread, bleach your eyes and brain and just try to Eternal Sunshine the whole thing. The same goes for Game of the Year (also referred to as GOY's) which is pretty laughable considering the date today and any thread with the word 'lock' in the title.
