I have a friend who gave his mailman $100 for Christmas. WTF? Is this normal? People give their mailman or mail lady money for Christmas? I have never heard of this.
Did you give your mailman money for X-mas?

#4Have been doing it for that past 20 some years. It tends to give you just a little bit better service, and it is the right thing to do. Mail people, paper kid, barber.Comment -

I live in a town house and whenever I have packages that won't fit in common container she delivers them to my door. She could leave a note to pick them up at the post office.Comment -

#9I flipped him a 20 spot in a xmas card...figured that was good enough. He's been my mailman for 5 years and he always puts my packages in the garage if I'm not home. Good guyComment -

Exactly, so for a small token you get service and make a guy/girl happy. It's a no brainer for me.Comment -

#21I read a recent article in the NY Post on what you should tip people for the holidays. For example, doormen, parking attendants, nannies, mailman, etc.
It specifically said in the article that mailmen are forbidden to accept cash as gifts and to give a bottle of booze or something else. Either this article had bad info or the mailmen are dirty.Comment -

#23United States Postal Service employees cannot accept cash tips nor can they accept a gift worth over $20.
I just found this from another article from 2008. if they take your cash they probably steal mail as well.Comment -
