I think the explanation could have been drawn out a little more -- it's kinda unclear whether this is a one-shot deal or throughout the playoffs... but I guess we must assume it's throughout the playoffs.

So then if Baltimore, for instance, were to beat KC by 13 (x5=65 points), beat the Pats by 3(X5=15 points), beat the Steelers by 10(x5=50 points), then beat the Packers by 7(x5=35 points), and you had picked Baltimore, you would be awarded 165 points???

If they beat KC by 5 and then lose to the Pats, you'd get 25 points?
