How do you feel about the Homeless Man story?
I know many think it's the feel-good story of the past 2 years, but those people are societal sheep.

The story makes me furious. Well not furious, just mad. This guy had a good life, and then he fukking ruined himself with drugs and alcohol. Then God is gracious enough to have given him that voice and now he is making good money. You think they are paying him minimum? HA!

It just shows that success is based primarily on luck and it disgusts me.

Other people never get involved with drugs or alcohol and just because they weren't lucky enough to get a voice like this bum, they are poor and living below the poverty line. Fukk this guy and fukk having success be based on luck. What a shitty society this is.

Tired of it. He's had more than 15 minutes of fame. He'll be back on the street within six months.

maybe although hes also receiving counseling and a therapist i think i heard. So whatever problems led him to living on the street may get ironed out and who knows he might make it this time.

Envy (also called invidiousness) is best defined as an emotion that "occurs when a person lacks another's (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it."[1]

I assume you feel the same way about athletes who are lucky to be talented enough to play pro sports?

Or what about a genius who makes money because they were born smart?

You could say that about anything. Anyone is lucky to be born with a talent or intelligence.

I don't know understand how someone can be mad at someone else who might turn their life around. Good for him.

the luck part isnt the voice, its being discovered. We all have talents that are greatly useful to someone, but getting in front of that someone to let them see it is the luck part. Really not luck, right place right time kinda thing.

Most people have talent & dont even try to use it. Its like having a 12" cok. You're a shoe in for porn, but unless you go to silicone valley & audition it isnt gonna fukin happen unless you just happen to be pissing beside a porn producer at Applebees one night. And thats pure luck!!!

there are some real losers on this site hating on a guy attempting to make an ultimate change in his life. what is it that you guys do root for?

"It just shows that success is based primarily on luck and it disgusts me."

I'd be more embarrassed to have typed such an ignorant line if i were you. The most successful people in this country are definitely not that way. The richest people in this world are often the most motivated and hardest working.

I do feel the same way about pro athletes. I've been against their ridiculous salaries for a very long time. They are called 'gifted' for a reason. Same with child geniuses. It's a fukking gift. A present. This bum fukked himself then got lucky. Others never fukk themselves over, yet have to work two jobs and barely get by because they weren't gifted.

well you can actually make the point that people who work two jobs were born with a hard working gene or combination of genes that makes them more motivated to work/be successful

also pretty much anyone can become successful at something, devote all your time and effort to one thing and you will almost certainly become one of the best at whatever that thing is

So would you rather have unskilled people get paid the big bucks, and people with skills make minimum wage? I guess I just don't see what you're getting at....

Life is what you make of it. Anyone can work their way up in a company with hard work and the right attitude/work ethic.

I totally disagree with athletes not deserving their salaries. lets look at this example.. there are hundreds of millions of kids that play baseball in the park.. but ONLY the top 700 of them will make it.. the odds are so bad.. you have to be sooooooooo freakin blessed to be there. it's like winning a lottery, even worse odds. so they deserve every cent for being top 700 out of hundreds of millions. If you can make the majors, you deserve 12 million a yr.

Just look at doctors, they make 500k a yr and they don't deserve it because there are hundreds of thousands of doctors, unlike athletes, so it's easier to become a doctor, but no one complains that doctors make too much. Athletes deserve whatever they get cause they are blessed to be this good and be better than 1 billion other people trying to get their jobs.

Also hilarious you think pro athletes are just 'gifted' and don't work to become the players they are. Go envy some place else, you jealous prick.

also regarding athletes. i am not even including the hrs spent practicing from age 2 to 18. 13 hrs a day practicing. then when they turn 15, the hrs spent on buses travelling, hrs spent away from mom and dad and family,. you lose your childhood, you have to leave home now at 17 to attend a scholarship and go to school 3,000 miles away.. then you got the training in the gym each day, the long practices, the travelling on the plane alone without family, spending nights in hotels alone, you can't see your kids for a long time or your wife.. you never know if your wife is cheating on you...you get tired of planes, airports, etc.. then you find out you're traded, you have to move your house and family out and find a new home to relocate again, put your kids in a new school again.. then you get traded again 3 months after and you have to relocate your family and kids' new school again. etc..And when you're not playing well, you hear it on the radio, fans boo you, newspapers are bashing you, etc.. Very very stressful job..

These guys deserve every cent. not only because you're the best of the best in the world, but because it's very stressful and hard work being an athlete.
