I just don't believe in "traps". Either Bulls play good and win, or Bulls play like shit and lose. But with the line being off by a good 3 points to me does seem odd, and it would seem that the books want money on Chicago, who most would think are the better team.

But who really knows...

The line is accurate. It is not a trap. The Bulls were -5 at home to Philly and now are -1 at some shops. That is 6 pts, calculate the 3 pts for homecourt difference both ways and the number out now is accurate.. I am not advocating a play on the Bulls or Philly. Just simply stating the line is where it should be. However, I would be hesitant pulling the trigger on the Bulls knowing that they spanked Philly by 45 pts at home last game, have Boston on Saturday and the majority of bettors are on the Bulls and your not getting line movement in your favor..

Tibs as you all well know is a defensive minded coach and if you don't play defense he is going to sit you down even if you are Boozer.. Don't disagree with that, but at the same time linesmakers don't have quite the same knee jerk reaction as the public especially over such a short span. Perhaps in keeping with knee jerk reactions perhaps bettors are not warm and fuzzy taking the Bulls off a loss to the Nets.


I think one guy said the Bulls should be -9 for the game. Bulls could win by that or more,but the books have an obligation to not getting killed by sharps that bet 10K a game and believe me if Philly was +9 tonite there would be tons of heavy action on Philly. Books not worried about the $25 bettors getting Chi right tonite.


Personally,if you ask me I don't think either side is a good bet. I can see the Bulls winning, but also can see them losing rather easily against a quality team that is a little better than there record imo, espcially ATS...

That -5 was a joke, I was all over the Bulls. Philly came in as hot as possible too at that time and still got their asses handed. It won't be as easy in Philly, but Philly just doesn't match up well. Frankly, I don't see a single favorable matchup on the floor for them.

It should light a fire under Boozer, but you never know how one player reacts to something like that. I agree Tibs is a good coach and demanding, but fair. I wish him nothing but success in Chicago moving forward. I also agree that the Bulls are a good team. I am not advocating a play on either side I just answered some questions that some had. Bulls are better than Philly for sure, but remember the Bulls are not an elite team and Philly is not a bunch of scrubs either. I am sure Philly has something to prove after there ass whipping Bulls gave them recently. Just like the line inicates the game can go either way and I can make a case for both sides and that's the reason I am staying away. GL though.

I just placed a bet on the Bulls. The reason for the line is because the Bulls aren't that good on the road but since the 76ers will not have Andre playing, and the Bulls gave them a 40 point thrashing the last time they played, I like the bulls here.

The sixers have been very good lately, and Iggy has been out for a long time. Be careful with this one. I like the Bulls too, but the Sixers may have some payback in order after that wretched beat down in chi-town.

"IF" I was a conspiracy theorist, I would say it's Friday (payday) and Vegas is pulling an awesome mindf*ck on everyone to take their money tonight and tomorrow, and here's how.

Vegas looks at this matchup and sets it as Bulls +1. Every friggin' Bulls fan is gonna cash their paycheck and play this because they believe their team is going to kick ass like it did the last time these teams met. And later in the day, the line is going to change to Sixers +1 or +1.5, so that all those that are leery about this line jump on board with the Bulls too because now it's "not so fishy". Probably about 70% of the betting public will back the Bulls. Problem is, the Sixers are playing great ball right now, and have completely bought into Doug Collin' system. The loss of Iggie doesn't hurt much as this is an athletic team that is much better than their overall record, one of the best defensively at home, and certainly better than the ass-whooping they took the last time they played Chicago. And with Chicago looking ahead to its matchup with the Celts, I see the Sixers winning a tight one by 3 or 4. Advantage: Vegas.

Fast forward to tomorrow, Bulls at home against a Celtics team coming off a back-to-back. Vegas will set the line at Bulls at -2.5 (or thereabouts) since the Bulls will now have lost 2 straight. And the betting public (including those that will lose tonight) will pound the Celtics +2.5 because of that, trying to make up for the loss they'll take tonight. And the Bulls will probably will win by 3 with a last second trey over a Boston team that's playing okay (but not great) without KG. Advantage again: Vegas.

Good thing I'm NOT a conspiracy theorist, I just wanted to collect my extra points for posting something entertaining today.

He's matched up against Boozer. They'll both get their points. I'm talking at the 5. And if Philly plays Brand at the 5 that allows the Bulls to pair Boozer and Gibson if they want, or even having Deng at the 4. Again, Philly is pretty small, this really helps the Bulls and allows them to do different things. That said, I'd like to see a lot of Asik. He is really coming along and is really dynamite defensively and on the glass.

The 76ers had Igudola that game, and he makes the team worse. That added to the fact the Bulls were at home, that should make up 45 points or so.
