He's already going to be losing his coach. You gotta respect this decision but he's passing up A LOT.

Not really. There will more than likely be a rookie pay scale next year, if there even is a next year. Plus he would be playing for carolina, and thats not good for anybody's career.
Gotta respect his decision but the dude is passing up a lot. Guess this makes Mallett the undisputed #1 qb.

Luck isn't poor. His father was quarterback Oliver Luck. I'm sure that his life isn't tough financially

Did anyone see Gabbert throw that pick 6 in the bowl game? If that is who I need at qb, then I am like Samauri Mike. I would rather play with 10 players until we have to do something else.

The new rules will most likely apply to this year's draft as well, right? I would think it would be the same then.

I think it depends on whether a new CBA is reached prior to the draft.
Really surprising news.

No sir! Big Mizzou fan here and whoever picks Gabbert will waste a pick. He's been staring down receivers for 2+ years now and can't stand in the pocket without getting happy feet. He has no progression and can not go downfield. He has a good arm, but is way off over 20 yards. Chase Daniel was a way better QB, only bad thing he is 7 inches shorter!

Carolina's pockets are tight, with Luck not there at No 1 now Carolina will probably look at trading down in the draft. I really can't see them taking the top Defensive guy and paying him big money.

the lockout looms and he will stay at school and thus it will keep harbaugh there for 1 more year as the cardinal will be a pre-season top 3 and have a LEGIT shot at the BCS Crown next year
and yes gabbert is a total bum, i couldn't believe he was #2 QB on McShay's board after Luck.....mallet or Dalton are both better

Even though, he injured his shoulder and didn't play most of the season, Sam Bradford certainly doesn't regret staying at Oklahoma for his senior season.

Some guys do actually enjoy college people. Think about it this way, you go back to the place where you're the man & can fukk whatever broad you want without paying for it in lawsuits, etc. for another year and not be someone's whipping boy as a rookie. Maybe you don't make 12 million a year, but he'll still make 3-5 if the NFL does any sort of new agreement. Since he comes from money, lesser money will still be perfectly fine for him.

Wow, really the the team with the number one pick was the worst team in the league, and that the number one pick is always a quaterback?
Or maybe, just maybe, the team with the number one pick the following year won't need a qb, that never happens. But hey what do i know i'm just an idiot

While I don't think this is remotely smart I would think his only fear is injury. He wasn't going to be drafted on unproven athletic gifts like Locker or surrounded by impossible to fail with talent like Leinart. I don't think he will hurt his stock.

It was his junior season and there is nothing to regret, he went #1 overall. Better believe Leinart and Locker regret it.
