Sorry to hear this, Rich. Lost my lab of 14.5 years last year. I know it sucks. The only downside to owning a dog is that they don't live very long. Its like losing a family member. Period.

and to give you young kids an idea... she died in 2003. i'm telling you, it's not worth owing a dog. feels just like it happened yesterday when i got that call from my vet that she died over night. the day before they said she was in remission.

and sorry, rich. not going to lie you prob been through this before, it's going to take a hell of a long time just before you can even start to deal with it.
