I seem to remember pre-BCS CU ranked 3rd in the polls playing unranked Norte Dame in Fiesta Bowl. Yeah without the BCS Oregon would have played in Rose Bowl against Wisconsin and Auburn against a second place in Sugar yeah that is way better let's do that instead. Sure a playoff would be better but don't sell me this crap that the old bowl system was better. Everybody that says that must be 17.

Should have nothing to do with the top 4 bowls though. I actually like the 30 bowls they have bc that puts more football on TV and kinda extends the season but when you have a team this bad in the Fiesta bowl you know some change needs to be made.

Let me give you an example why this system sucks. Basically only the teams winning their conference have a chance to win the BCS championship. You may have the best 2 or 3 teams in the country from the same conference and one or two have no chance to win.

In the NFL and MLB you have wildcards (which went and won Superbowls and World Series in the past) in the NBA you have playoffs so more than one team per division has a chance to win. In soccer you have 2-3 teams from each country fighting with equal chance to win the UEFA Champions League.

Apparently the college presidents who conceived BCS think they are smarter than the rest of the country.
