Even though I refuse to work I have been getting some heat on this. I thought the pro's always max bet and I hardly ever do that. Most plays are from 300-500 and yes sometimes there may be 30 on a single day.

What is the definition of a recreational player?

I find it hard to define someone who is putting that much money in play as a recreational player. Hardly!

Had my brother set up a beard account for me under his name and they shut me down due to this.

It really is not about how much you bet it is how you bet. If you bet a million a week on -EV bets you are still a recreational player regardless of how much you wagered.

300-500 per play/75k per month... I don't know if that is recreational but it certainly is far from pro.

Pros often put more then 75k into play in a day.

You could bet 250 a game at bodog square lines and make a handsome living. So a pro could bet 250 a game. How many of these threads are there per year? Could we resolve to not have any in the new year?

I agree, these threads are pointless. Why do people care if they're considered "pro" or "recreational"?

for like one day till they kick you off them

75k a month is 900k a year. at 5% (which is a lot) thats 45k a year. sounds more like a good month to me.

I'd rather be a rec player and make good money. Who gives a shit what others think. If I lose, then I just blame the fact that I'm a rec player.

                          Volume means nothing

You can ARB with zero knowledge and easily bet 100k per month.

I think a recreational player is just what it sounds like, you bet for recreation. You wanna watch a game on tv or live and throw some money on it.
