Both Providence and Syracuse have been offensive machines. Both teams appear to be high scoring due to their relatively easy schedules. Providence's opponents allow 24 points/100 possessions more than the NCAAB average (excluding games with Providence). Syracuse's schedule isn't quite as ridiculous -- their opponents are only 19 points/100 possessions worse than the NCAAB average (again, excluding games with Syracuse).

Both teams have pretty good defenses. Past scoring is not a great predictor when you have such screwy SOS ratings.

This total is WAY off. I'd consider it a very good play on the under, down as low as 148.

Agreed. This Providence squad has had a bit of trouble vs the Zone as well. And we all know what Cuse is going to run on D.

Syracuse is the clearly superior team and they're at home...so why do I feel more comfortable with UNC moneyline vs. Rutgers than Cuse moneyline vs. Providence?

Providence defense may look OK now but by the time they go through the big east schedule they will be near the bottom. Syracuse offense is on fire right now scoring 93, 97, 83, 100 in last four games. Providence games go over regardless of the number. Last season 18-8 and this season 7-2. There are better totals on the board than playing with fire on this one.

Only problem I see here is PC is capable of giving up 90-100 & 'Cuse is in a groove. You give me 148, I'll take the over any day.

147.8 would be an accurate number based on season averages. But factoring in recent spikes in trends with both teams play, I would project the game to go up to 14 points over that number. I don't see much value either way with the 153 number. I probably would of taken the over at 149.5 or lower.

providence vs arkansas was close to 153 and arkansas plays good defense and couldnt throw a vollyball into the ocean. I like the over here it doesnt matter how good each defense is, when 80% of the shots are taken within the first 20 seconds of the shot clock its going to go over. I havent booked it yet but theres a good chance ill be taking the over

Like it as well, Syracuse's D has been great this year. Plus we're getting back from a break where we usually come out flat and we still don't shoot the ball all that well, we have lately against terrible competition so that's probably why the line is inflated.
