Do you return empty bottles and cans?

Those nickles add up, but no way I'm standing in line with a shopping carriage full of empties, feeding them into some machine for a nickle each.

I chuck em in my recycle bin next to my trash can. The guy that walks around town mumbling, puts them in his cart. When I catch him in the neighborhood, I tell him how much he owes me. 50/50 split seems fair to me.

State I grew up in had bottle redemption and my parents use to let me cash them in for a few extra bucks. No return where I live now, just do my part and recycle. But you are right, those nickels add up

i have probably thrown out 4,000$ in cans and bottles in the last 15 yrs. i hate having cans/bottles hanging around. it's not worth it. then you have to put them all in bags, carry them to the car, wait in line, just to make 1.25$ a week.. Time is money..i prefer to just toss em out and not have any clutter hanging around kitchen and then worry about cockroaches or ants.. NO THANKS.. i drink, i toss out 5 cents. no big deal.. at least house is always clean.

I take cans to the recycle place down the road. Only takes a few minutes since it goes by weight and you don't have to mess with putting them in a machine. Usually get about $40 or so every few months. I let my kids have the money. I put bottles in a bag by the dumpster though.

yes. I consider it being one of my ways of being 'green' I let them build up for a month or so and take them to the mexicans who run a bottle-can reception. It's quick and easy. They just weigh it and pay me cash. No hassle and a few extra bucks that I am owed anyway.

Same here bro. If you wanna take back glass, you gotta seperate all that shit with different colors: green, white, brown, too much hassle. If you just have cans and plastic bottles, you're good to go. Take a car full down to the recycle place and get about $30 and takes about 10 minutes.
