Bill Cowher - Miami Dolphins new head Coach?

This is what I am hearing. He wants to coach either Miami or the Giants. If the NYG win this weekend, Tom Coughlin's job is safe and Miami looks like they will land the sought after coach

Coughlin is out regardless if the Giants make the playoffs. With only one year left on his contract and Cowher showing interest, the Giants will eat that one year and make sure not to miss the boat on Cowher. If they bring in Cowher with Eli in his prime, two solid backs and 3 young stud WR...we'll be seeing them in the SB soon.

Btw..I'm not a Gaints fan AT ALL

Yes but apparently they aren't willing to pay what Miami and NY are.

I had heard that he was interested in only 3 jobs. Miami, NYG, Houston! I do know that he's been itching to get back into coaching, especially in light of the death of his wife from melanoma a couple of years back. Has 2(I believe..) great athletic daughters and his fiery style will always be remembered in Pittsburgh. Don't know if Miami would be a good fit, esp. if Tuna is there and hmmmmmm, what about the QB? Can he take them to the playoffs with him??

Can't believe the Dolphins went 1-7 at home this year.

With that loss to Denver yesterday, the coaching staff in Houston is all but gone. If we lose to Jax on Sunday we will be guaranteed a top five pick, even as high as #2. Best time to bring in a new coach. I think the Texans will go after a big name as well.

If Cowher wants to coach, some owner is going to grab him regardless of what it costs and how long the current coach is under contract. But there will be a ton of pressure on him; having won a SB, the fans are going to want immediate gratification (so what else is new?).

Parcells left his position with the Dolphins at the beginning of the season. The QB situation is very questionable though. Henne looks to be regressing. He is very young and could still develop but his window of opportunity in shrinking. Cowher would be an intriguing hire, but I'm not sure the Dolphins will spend that kind of money with the uncertainty of next season's potential lockout.

No head coach has ever in history taken 2 different teams to a super bowl, so is Cowher really the answer???

Mike Holmgren took Green Bay and Seattle to the super bowl as head coach

The article doesn't really say anything.

Fans can be disappointed all the want. The fact is, the Dolphins were a historically awful organization when Sparano took over. Now they are at the least average and consistent. This is without a QB.

They need a QB, not a HC. Their styles aren't much different.

don't get me wrong. I am a Sparano fan. I think the Tuna hired a great coach who is greatly respected by his players. Henne has what it takes to be an outstanding QB as he showed late last years and the early part of this year. It must be in his head because he just doesn't seem the same. Weird season in Miami for sure. Miami's my team btw.

Henne can't beat a zone defense. He stares down his receivers. Teams have just played more and more zone now that its on tape. Henne won't be the starter next year. I would guess Kyle Orton would be high on their list.

He seems like he has no confidence. His O-line has been banged up last several games which doesn't help bu the problem for most of the year has been the red zone. They move the ball very well until they are in scoring position and end up settling for three. Now, is this the coach's play calling? Henne doesn't call the plays but looks very decent up to the opponents 30 yard line. The coaching staff has to take some of the blame here. That happened to the wildcat? Why virtually abandon a successful play?

Ricky is retiring after the next game so we need a RB.
