Compiling my record - Advice please!!!

Is there a way I can use the spreadsheet to post past plays or will that look dodgy? I have hundreds, actually probably a couple of thousand plays to post.

I managed to find a saved spreadsheet copy in Gmail of when I started this back in August. I only made it through one week's worth of plays and they were 42-29 +25.86u. Happy with the results of that week but not happy at the thought of entering all of these plays manually considering my thread started in May if it's not going to seem legit somehow.

Any advice on the best way to do this? Or should I stick with my Gmail spreadsheet and just tell people my record when they ask since we don't have sigs anymore?

imho it sounds like a utter waste of time.

BUT if you must enter the dick measuring contest, perhaps leave reference in the notes section to the plays in whatever thread they were posted in (thread title, don't think you can post links on the SS).

besides, i'm sure you have a decent following of respected posters to back it up if someone really needs to confirm your record.

or better yet, maintain a gmail spreadsheet with all previous posted plays and start fresh with the sbr spreadsheet if you are really concerned about it. and continue to maintain both concurrently.

again, my opinion here, the sbr ss sux balls. any slight edit to a posted play (fixed typo, line correction, etc.) gets recorded into an activity log so people may thing you changed a play after the fact.

To be honest, I could care less about my record on here as it isn't an accurate account of all of my plays since I don't even use unit sizes in the thread and miss posting plays sometimes. But every time there's a Slam, people who don't bet tennis come into my thread and ask about my record which is fair enough. I end up spewing the same story over and over again so I thought this might be a way to just avoid the questions. It's going to take me a long ass time to do it though so I want to make sure I'm at least doing it the most efficient way as possible.

And it is going to be a lot of work considering the number of plays I posted and how old the thread is.

Seems like it's such a big deal to some people and others don't give a rats ass. I just figured if I was going to do it, I should do it now while tennis is on a break before I make the job any bigger than it already is.

its all personal preference. if you feel as if you should have statistics available for the tennis noobians who wish to tail then go for it.

the beauty of the forum is that you can gain a following that can speak to your behalf. hopefully they are level headed people and not just shari shills.

its sounds like you want to please everyone. remember you can't do that. people will always question success and some hope to see failure. they will come and go.

if i remember correctly you have one of the most frequented threads in the tennis subforums. that alone should speak volumes of your work.

So what you are saying is that your handicapping is steady and always been good since your lucky start. What I look for in my notes which are totally full notebooks recording every single penny bet, is improvement. Are you improving? Notes/records are to tell you what steps are needed?

Why don't you make a new thread showing your current record (plain and simple), and start entering your picks on the SBR spreadsheet starting today and tell them to do the math?

To be honest, that's why I disappeared from PT for awhile and just lived in the tennis forum whilst obsessing over what I read in the ThinkTank. I've been betting on tennis for probably 17 years if not longer but I don't think I've been maximising my money making potential which I've openly admitted. I never know when to up my bets unless I've received inside dirt from someone so I end up losing out on the chance to make more money. Thankfully we have a free resource here that spells out exactly what I need to do. I'm not sure if I fully grasp it to 100% effectiveness yet but at least I'll go through the learning process alone since I refuse to post unit sizes and take others down with me.

I privately asked the guy I respect the most on here about gambling stuff what I should do and he suggested the same thing as far as the spreadsheet is concerned. I won't start a new thread because my current one is full of giggles, fun and love for my son so I refuse to retire it. But I'm going to start a spreadsheet as of the next tournament I bet. Hopefully that'll suffice for those who have a problem with my thread. Betting 100 plays a week is a bit difficult to go back and record accurately in a short period of time.

See I thought I couldn't share outside links to that stuff because of forum rules but I'm not too with it to be honest.

Stealthy (sorry I can't multi-reply on phone) - I stopped early this morning after reading the responses in here and my PM reply. As someone said to me, unless I'm trying to go tout there's no need for me to go through 8 months of plays just to prove a point since I have enough sane people in my thread who like the plays I put out. I think he may have been being too kind but my lazy ass is accepting that answer.

Jj considering the shitty weather we've been having this summer so far, I almost wish I was a chunky. And yes, I'm going to start tracking on the spreadsheet when I make my first plays in Jan alhough from what I've read the spreadsheet is a bit dodgy too. Better than nothing though I guess. The key to having a spreadsheet is being consistent and not just using it once in a while or start one for two weeks and then give up on it.

I rather see losing spreadsheets like myself than no spreadsheets.

No one has ever been rude to me or anything. It's more that I was just trying to relieve some of the questions that pop up every Slam and figured if I was going to do it, I should do it now before the # of plays get even more out of control.

Yeah, that's what I was using to confirm some odds and things but the problem is I used 4 books for most of the year and I still have to enter the info into some form for people to see.

For the number of plays in that thread I think I'd have to clear out my account to get someone to finish the job.

Stealthy, the tennis forum isn't like the other sub-forums. Once in a rare while you'll get a random who will make a crappy comment but it's not very often. I think that's what makes it so great. And everyone is very supportive of each other except admittedly there's one guy in there who's the G's Picks of the tennis forum and bets all of the $1.02 plays ie Nadal vs my grandmother, and lays the chalk on them so he takes a bit of grief from time to time. But that's to be expected, no?
