I’m not religious, but I do believe that most people deeply involved in gambling are escapists at heart. An escapist generally will contribute less to society spiritually, and more to society materialistically. In other words, gambling may actually encourage some people to “flake out”.

And please explain Plato, why Gambling is "immoral". Push aside societal mores, and explain why gambling is immoral. You can't. Are you defining "gambling" as placing a wager of value on an event? If so, you can extrapolate that definition where driving becomes a gamble, (driving a human life in a vehicle where the risk is death).

And since the stock market involves risk, I assume you are ready to declare every human being who receives a pension immoral for their behavior?
