Rams/Seahawks flexed to SNF for Week 17
    Just announced on NBC.

It's a bad matchup, but it's the only game where both teams have something big to play for.

Winner takes the NFC West and gets the #4 seed.

Pulling for the Rams as well, I'd like to see Bradford reach the playoffs in year one.

NFC West is a disgrace to the NFL, what a joke.

Hoping Seattle wins that would mean for the first time in NFL history a team with a losing record wins its division serve the NFL right, also im sure some kind of change would come because of it possible seeding teams by record 1-6. sure the division winner would get in but it would be the 6 seed and not host a game.

the last few weeks, there is no "original game".

NBC just chooses a game to flex. Same thing with Philly/Minnesota.

                            I'm taking Seattle.

Bears Vs Packers would have been much better.

Both still playing for something big. Packers Playoffs. Bears Playoff Bye

no the division winner hosts a playoff game regardless of record so the winner actually gets a home game in the playoffs

From NFL.com a few weeks ago

The NFL has changed its Week 16 Sunday night game, opting for Vikings-Eagles instead of Chargers-Bengals. Fox-23 planned to show Vikings-Eagles, so the 1 p.m. seleciton for that week is tentative.

I know that but that rule will be changed for next season division winners will get in playoffs but beginning next season look for seeding to be done by overall record. So if this happen next season the seahawks/Rams winner would be the 6 seed and go on the road for wildcard weekend.

They won the division, they earn a right to host a home playoff game.

Simple, no need to change it.

It is being changed according to Mike Floria of PFT and NBC sunday night football

Atlanta Falcons president and co-chair of the NFL Competition Committee Rich McKay thinks that the current state of the NFC West will force the league to change its playoff seeding methods starting in 2011.

McKay supports re-seeding spots 3-6 by record, with division winners not necessarily granted a home game. (Division winners would be guaranteed a playoff spot at any record.) He’s come close to getting the measure passed before, with upwards of 18 votes supporting the idea. 24 owners would need to approve the measure to pass it.

Perhaps having the first 7-9 playoff team in NFL history could inspire such a change.

The winner of the NFC West hosting a playoff game against a better team is like a guy who wins a race in the special olympics having an advantage over a guy who took 2nd in a race in the actual Olympics. They are not better, therefore they have earned nothing.

What if the winner on Sunday ends up beating the Saints the first round and making it far in the playoffs like the Jets did last year? Would you still say that team didn't deserve it even though they won there division and made it deep in the playoffs?
