I dont think the Big ten survives the weekend, period.

Tennessee got phucked. Dropped from a 1 seed to the last 2 seed? How is Gtown better than UT? GT lost to memphis in a blowout and then to pitt pretty bad.

-Oregon baffles me. They do not deserve a bid, let alone a NINE?!!

I think were going to see a return to a lot of upsets this year. I see 2 or 3 tens, 2 elevens, a thirteen, and maybe a 14 seed getting through the first round.

But, the top 7 teams look extremely strong and I think they'll all go deep.(UNC, Memphis, UCLA, Kansas, Tenn, Texas, Duke)

I had the exact same reactions.

I think the reason Tennessee got the #2 in the East is because the committee felt they were "rewarding them" with the location. I feel it wouldve been a much better fit having Tenn go to Houston and forcing Texas to go to Carolina.

At least 2 12 seeds advance. Wouldnt surprise me if 3 advanced.

              One hundred percent agree.
But honestly as a vols homer, I would rather play NC then Kansas/Memphis.

I think the 5's are just too strong this year. Can't see Notre Dame, Drake, or Clemson packing up early. Temple has the best shot against MSU, but if Nietzel is on and MSU is defending well I don't see how they pull it off.

Mark Few has to be sick of getting ousted early year after year, but I agree, this is not a good matchup for the Bulldogs. I'll be rooting for them anyways though, my favourite team ever since their miracle runs back in the 90's.

For one, the BE is miles ahead of the SEC. I think Gtown would beat Tennessee handily - Hibbert would have a field day against the Vols' front line.

Personally, I think Lville's the team to beat in the East, easily the most difficult region in the field.

                        -- Arky can beat UNC.

-- ND (-2?) over Wazzou in round 2 could be the GOY.

                        -- Vandy getting a 4 seed is a joke.

-- Love Kent State over UNLV (sorry looker) in the 8/9.

-- SC/K-State winner beats Wisky in round 2.

-- Kansas and Gtwon have a relatively easy path to the regional final.

                        -- Zona/WVU winner beats Duke.
Very sharp for initial thoughts....If WVU somehows beats Arizona (going to be a great matchup) I will be in D.C. for Sunday...Dont know about ARK/UNC but I agree with everything else here...I cant wait...

                          I'm only doing one bracket...

                          Some notes:

                          1) I have Xavier in the final four

                          2) I have one 15 seed winning in the 1st round

                          3) I have one 14 seed winning in the 1st round

                          4) I have one 13 seed winning in the 1st round

                          5) I have two 11 seeds winning in the 1st round

                          6) I have two 10 seeds winning in the 1st round

Georgetown got blown out to Memphis, where dorsey had a big game. UT shut down memphis' front line. UT's speed/tempo and, if utilized, full court press, would cause them a lot of trouble. Not to mention the big east traditionally has a problem with being too physical in the tournament. Given the officiating of the conference tournaments, i can see this being a problem.

This is one of the best games of the opening round IMO. Most will point to Beasley/Mayo in the K-State/SC game, but Bayless and Alexander are two of the top 10 players in the tourney. Tough game to call.

                                Good luck.

I agree that Tennessee might in the end realize UNC to be a good fit for their style. Look at all the Turnovers Clemson forced today, and TN has a much better shot at scoring with UNC than Clemson did.

                                    East is really stacked.
Even though IU has played like shit lately, Eric Gordon and DJ White could be enough to give UNC all they want. Of course they could loss to Arkansas as well.

Notre Dame in the Sweet 16

                                    St Joes wins a game.

                                    S Alabama gets a win.

Louisville beats Tenn in the 16.

                                    Padgett vs Hansbrougho!! WOW.

                                    Midwest is very top heavy.

Gtown and Kansas can walk into the Elite 8.

                                    Kent ST wins,

Clemson/Vill ? Tough one, tigers squeeze it out.

Foster/Ogilvy lead Vandy to the 16

Mayo vs Beasley! USC wins on the Defensive end.

                                    Wiscy 1 and done.

Gtown shows Kansas how to defend the perimeter, slows 'em down.

Pitt Beats Memphis (if they get by Miss St.)

DJ/AJ too clutch for Pitt and takes Texas to teh Final Four

                                    WEST

Western Ky wins easy, yup thats right easy. . .

                                    UConn beats UCLA

West V beats Duke but gets out muscled by Xavier.

                                    UConn reaches final four.

                                    Final Four

Louisville gets revenge against GTown and reaches Championship game.

Texas/UConn? can Abrams and Augistine really reach the Final game?

Louisville too strong inside for Texas in the finals. . .
