went home after race 3. not my night
got to the track right around when they finished race 1. went around parade circle to scope out the horses for 2nd race. like horse #11, but i don't want to bet too much, so i want to pick a 2nd horse for quinella bet to get good payoff (there is no point winning like 20-30 dollars since i am just betting for fun). i saw horse #9 has a big W (the horse was wearing a hood) on its head, so i thought it is a sign. i bet 5 dollars on 9-11 quinella for race #2. 4-11 came in 1st and 2nd. I was like oh well, should've picked a fav as the 2nd leg of the quinella instead of some stupid horse with a W on its forehead. it is only 5 dollars, so i didn't care.

checked the odds for race #3, horse 4,6 were the two favs. but the quinella odds for 4-6 is only 6 to 1, so i would only win like 25 dollars. so i said, f\*\*k it, i'll pick a good odds quinella bet. So I decided to go for 4-11 quinella (pay off was 60 to 1).(hoping for a repeat) 6-4 finished top two. at that point, i said, i am done...what are the chances of 4-11 come on 1st and 2nd again...that was a stupid bet.

when i was in the car i heard on the radio that 4-11 finish 1st and 2nd for race #4.

down 10 dollars. not a big deal, but this happened a lot when i was pretty close to win descent amount of money and just one or two races off. not my night

    Great post

Thats what this forum is all about

    No mention of Shari

Just a regular gambling story from a regular human

God bless and good luck at the track tomorrow

Happy valley in hong kong. Normally I show up for the last three races to hang out and drink with my friends. Yesterday most of my friends went back to the states for the holiday so I just brought this one local girl with me to show her around since she never been to the track before.

Started drinking way before we got to the track, and was on a pint a race pace. The girl got bored after two races so we left.

I've heard stories about that track and how much the locals are into it. Probably beats anything in North America. I visit Woodbine a lot which typically is in the top 3 tracks as far as the 'handle' goes and the live crowds are small as most wagers are placed online. Payoffs and large fields are what I like about Happy Valley.
