if that 3rd 8 wouldn't have come up I would have had 30k and been in good shape...I was on the final table, but I did get 9th for $44

Sucks playing like 4 hours and then ending like that, but he did have 4 outs with 2 cards to come, probably 15% chance or so (not to mention you were a 4-1 dog before the flop), so it's not like it was a thousand to one shot or something, still tough luck.

1 in 6 shot he had and got it, nothing much to whine about
i remember recently finishing 13th for 55$ with trips when guy hit a 2 cards for straight with low pair
if i had won that hand i would probably win at least 250$ for 10th place...
Shift happens, but once in a while you are gonna be the one who steals the pot this way

Poker sites aren't rigged, you idiot. Why would they make them fixed? That would mean less people would play and less rakeback meaning less money for said sites.

Bobby, you're not alone. This has happened to everyone who has played a significant amount of poker.
I have an adage I like to go by "never fall in love with your 2 pair when there's a pair on the board" because it's so easy for someone else to match the pair on the board for 3 of a kind or else to have a higher pair.
Perhaps I should have a new adage: "never fall in love with your full house when there's a trip on the board" since another player could have 4 of a kind or a higher pair.

You were crushed pre flop. When did all the money go in?
Sucks that your pretty much counting the money after that flop then.....Not so fast!
Hey at least you cashed. Keep making it past the bubble. Good things will happen to you too.

the only thing that has him beat is 85 and 88 both extremely unlikely(assuming he got it all-in on the flop). YOU SHOULD BE FULLY IN LOVE with a full house on the flop. Especially in a tournament where you likely have less than 50 big blinds.

I see your point as far as when you have 3 of the same card on the board you only have 1 card available to complete a 4-of-a-kind versus 2 cards available to complete a 3-of-a-kind (or even 4-of-a-kind) with a pair on the board. However, in the scenario presented above you still have all the pairs above 5 that can beat you.

I continually am amazed at how many pocket pairs show up at Full Tilt, especially tables where all on the same deal someone has pocket Aces, Kings and Queens.

Best hand won anyway. Sucks losing at a final table so early though.
