    Silliness from BetEd
BetEd had a line on Tron's opening weekend (presumably the worldwide gross). Their line was Under $150m +900, all the way up to like Over $200m +400 or something like that. Now the bet was absolutely easy because there was no way it was getting close to $150m worldwide (but not guaranteed because in the same weekend last year, Avatar earned $230 million!), so I threw a few bucks at the under. The max bet was $100 if I remember correctly, and while I have way more than that in my account, I was being nice about it and didn't want to stick it to them so I bet it small.

So Sunday rolls around and the number comes out. A little under $70 million worldwide. I logged onto BetEd today, and I get a message that the bet was deleted. Alright, was half-expecting that. But then I see that the bet was deleted on Sunday afternoon AFTER THE TOTALS WERE RELEASED. Dude...that's not cool. So did they just delete the winning wagers and grade the rest?

    Inquiring minds...

does sound like it was a bad line. but all wagers including losing ones should be returned.

not sure if you will find anyone on here that bet the losing side(or winning side for that matter)

The thing is I'm not sure if it was a MISTAKEN LINE or just the linemaker had no clue what he was doing. If its the latter, they should've just honored it (was half-expecting that as well), and I think it was the latter. But...I'm not going to get up in arms about a few hundred bucks. The reason I am posting it is because its the principal of them canceling it after the results were known. In other words, they took a free shot, ya dig?

You should fill out a complaint form and let SBR look into it.

If they are the only one offering a market on an obscure prop, there is no "bad line" defense.

If they had plus money on both sides its obviously a bad line. If you had a typo and your bet was -900, that's shady.

                It was more than a 2-way market, so <150, 150-160, 160-170 etc I imagine.

+400 was the over 200 million, and the +900 was for the under 150 million. Too different numbers.

And if it was a "bad line" why didn't they grade it before the totals came out?

Sad stuff here, covers.com number 1 rated book at one point

I'm doing it from memory man, I don't remember the exact numbers (except for my own bet which obviously shows up in my bet history), but it was like a 4 or 5 way line so both extremes would've been +big money.

And Justin that is a pretty good point. As far as a complaint...to be honest I don't want to cause trouble with them because I don't to put my account/the rest of my balance in jeopardy if they get pissed at me, so I guess I'll just let sleeping dogs lie.

so you are happy to continue playing at a book which pulls stunts like that?

they would have to be offering some great opportunities which you couldn't get at better establishments to justify that attitude

                        what are they?

there is no way they could confiscate your balance just because you made a complaint and get away with it - if you really think they are that bad an outfit you should be taking your money and running away right now

I dumped beted after they graded a game a loss with 5 minutes to go. Yet they sometimes dont grade a win till the next day.

Not defending the book here in your situation Domer, just speaking from my personal experience.

Beted.com has been nothing but up an up with me. I have gotten multiple payouts from them including one last Thursday. Showed up in my checking acct and no fee.

I only bet sports though. No casino, poker, props, none of that stuff. Good luck and i hope your situation gets worked out.
