HBO is as good as it gets...my fav HBO doc was Magic and Bird...not to take away anything from our vets, but that Rivalry was unreal...

best doc that ive ever seen is restrepo. Its about the war in Afghanistan and a camp in the deadliest place in that war.

HBO did a recent short doc called China's Unnatural Disaster that was really powerful. It was about the Sichuan Earthquake and the thousands of of children that were killed while they were in class (children were killed in disproportionally high numbers versus adults because the school construction was so terrible...the buildings collapsed almost immediately). And these grief-stricken parents, who are only allowed to have one child, are trying to get the government to take responsibility and they just won't. Too many of us take democracy for granted, and your heart goes out to them that they have such an abysmal, corrupt, and authoritarian government.

I really liked the Bad Street Bullies documentary. They were before my time, but the history about them was really intriguing (especially the part about them verse the Soviet Russia team)

Yeah I guess it was good. I love HBO and Showtime. My dumbass parents canceld them, even though I said I would pay the 25 bucks a month for them. Pisses me off. they complained about not being enough movies on, in reality that may be true. but the shows they have on, are just in a whole anther class then broadcast tv shows

Yeah as somebody mentioned the Magic and Bird documentary was great. HBO does A++ work on all of their docs, tv shows and mini series.
