I updated my iphone and now lost all my contacts. I tried to retrieve em from itunes, but it keeps saying retrieving from backup or something for like 20 mins, and then says Failed to recover. I really need these contacts back.
make an account and post your question there Paco..someone should be able to help from there

I always keep a paper trail of my contacts so I can re-enter them on my phone if lost.

Yes, I've had issues like this before, as well. In the future, try to keep a backup on an external drive, or thumbdrive, but who has time for that shite, right? Great product, but stuff like this happening makes you want to jump out of a window.

Like when the power is out or I'm stranded somewhere without wireless phone service. Yeah I'd like to reach in my bag or wallet and find the phone number I'd like to call with a land line. Because not everywhere you get a signal.

It is called redundant back up. Email, home computer, work computer, phone, usb drive. If all of those fail then fuk i really deserved to lose my phone numbers.

I will not make this mistake again. I have got the few very important numbers I needed thru my detailed billing online. Big hassle.

This is not a redundant back up because all of them are tied to a common thing. Power..and without it your system becomes non-redundant.

Paco maybe if you spent less time in alleys doing business and more time being home this would never happen

Unfortunately the best thing is a hard copy of your contacts, the old fashioned pen and paper way. Though, I feel like I've lost that before too....oh well....

iPhone and laptop are battery powered and if the power is out for more than 2 days everywhere then it was probably due to some huge catastrophe in which case everyone is fukked anyways. lol
