I recommend the Shazam app. I know the iPhone offers it. It was able to recognize a song in a restaurant that was playing very low and there was background noise.

if i could go back in time, I would. just downloaded shazam today to see if i could hum it and have it recognize it.. no luck

it was a female...although it could have been a cover.... and it had an R.E.M. style to it, and I know this song was fairly popular..

anyways.. here are my wrong lyrics that i surely misunderstood

I know those arent even close to the real lyrics... this is why its gonna be hard. humming it into shazam didnt work either.

Your best chance is to go back into the same restaurant to eat and ask the waitress if they are playing the music from a set of the same CD's. Maybe that will narrow it down a little bit and you can come back with more clues for us to find it.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, and someone on here suggested I get the Sound Hound app for my phone. I hummed like 10 seconds of the song into it and it showed me the name of the song and the artist. I was dumbfounded it actually worked. Give it a shot.

The song is called Limb by Limb and the singer is Cutty Ranks. Sounds like a remix version.

Didn't listen close enough to see if this is the exact remix.
