Seems all the pricey New Years Eve parties in my area are back this year. The economy must be improving.

For $279, you can party with Shaquille O'Neal in Boston. Lots of others at $50+.

Anyone ever go to a big New Years Eve party? How about big ones at the casinos in Vegas or elsewhere?

I haven't. I was thinking about going to NYC to see the ball drop. Started researching it and most said it just wasn't worth it. Most places around times sq charge at least $300 per head. You have to get there super early and is crowded beyond belief.

Most of the Bars here it's about a 50 dollar cover plus drinks. So you walk out spending a shit load anyway, the cover, the cabs and deal with the lines. Last year I went to a pretty cool event that was 150 per head, all you can drink. Must have been at least 3,000 people there, maybe 5,000. It was actually worth it. Classier than the bars/fights, chicks dressed up and it was worth every penny.

but New Years Eve is the amateur hour. Too many people that never drink come out and drink. You guys get drunk NYE, I'll just get drunk every weekend.

the biggest for me was the sound factory in nyc about 9 years ago. Who gives a rats ass is shaq is at a place? Do you really think he will be cool and hang out with you or whoever? I don't mean you directly, rather any joe who goes to this place.

Why waste your money. Got a free hotel room and New years party at the Mountaineer Casino in Chester, WV. If not I would have just gone to a local bar. I never really saw what the big deal about it was.

This is how I see it, C-Gold. St. Patrick's Day is the same way in Boston - you might as well just go out and drink any other time. Best nights to go out are the day before and after St. Patrick's Day - less crowds, better service, and better drinks.

Kids, I have never partied with Shaq, & wouldn't walk out on the front porch to see him right now if he was in the fukin yard, its to goddamn cold!

I used to have connections at the Hilton here in Little Chicago, Tennefukinsee. I have to say the best New Years I've ever had was at one of their parties that I paid out of pocket $0 for the perks but ended up spending a lot for the antlers & fake snow.

Had a great run that year on the bowls & that night had 2 games playing & won about $3,000 more with parlays & bets held before the clock struck midnight. That party lasted 3 damn days & crossed county lines
