Coach: When should I arrive at a party?

Some people are throwing a party for me tomorrow since I'm off for a few months to work on the docks. There will be about 40 people there and the party is at a bar.

It starts at 8pm. Should I show up on time so that I'm the star right from the beginning or should I come in last and make a big entrance?

Your advice is appreciated as always. I'm still stealing cable from my neighbor based on your tutorial video from a few years ago.

arrive 1 hour late. this ensures everyone will be there and create enough suspense and anticipation.

My friend was having a b-day party at a bar a few months ago, and he arrived on time and he was the only one there (with his girl) for a whole hour before people started showing up, and even then it was just 2 or 3 people for the first couple of hours
