what determines whether a thread stays in PT or moves to general

It seems that PT is supposed to be for sports talk and General Discussion for everything else. But I think it depends on which Mods are working. Sometimes it goes that way and other times it doesn't.

seems that general discussion is the new pz (where threads go to die) but maybe after some time general discussion will gain a following and people will begin to start their threads under the right heading

Inane, but explicitly or implicitly talking about sports, sportsbooks, etc. = Player's Talk
Other inane shit that doesn't qualify for Politics, etc. or Private Zone material = General Discussion

Not consistent, but my hope is that it would be in the future.
