Spitzer debacle-Bank transactions scrutinized

Watching the news this morning, they discussed the software used by the banking industry to track peoples deposits, withdrawals, ATM transactions - it's all captured and analyzed. The most obvious red flag is when you make a transaction that is just under 10k. The thought used to be as long as you were under 10k you were safe, not anymore.

NPR had a story on how they caught him. The kinds of payments we get from sportsbooks have to raise red flags at times. The only saving grace is that so many things raise flags anymore, that they can't look at anything.

High profile government officials are actually looked at with greater scrutiny. Pretty much everything they do is looked at because they don't want them being put in a place were they could be blackmailed or corrupted by anyone, but really mainly by another government.
