SD is so unpredictable... They piss me off. I'm leaning on the Under.

JJ, don't waste your money on SF. For some reason people have thought they are going to be good all year....they aren't, they're garbage. SD gets Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson back tonight

For me, this comes down to who do I trust? Alex Smith or Phillip Rivers...
And that's a no-brainer...

This will be sort of a playoff game for both, i agree that it will be closer than people think for this reason.

Depends how San Diego play. San Fran's defence ain't special (especially if Willis is injured). Their offence wont have much firepower on the Chargers. If Chargers play near their best, this will be a blowout. In fact, I think they'll win by at least 7 as long as they dont mess up on special teams.

JJ, take the under. On TheGreek its 44 (last I checked).
SF could win, but won't and they certainly won't win a shootout. If they win it will be low scoring.
Parlay the under with the San Diego moneyline.
The Niners put up a lot of points last week but that was with the lowly Seahawks D. Chargers D is one of the top D's in the league. I'm not thinking the Niners get shut out here but I don't see them scoring more than 10. The Chargers have no reason to go pedal to the metal. Once they get 3 scores up, they'll tone it down, run clock and give their kicker some work. This should keep the score down. The only unknown is how many pick 6's will Alex Smith throw. That could be the fly in the ointment. In all, though, the under is a good bet. I've got $20 on the same bet i mentioned above (don't want to go big as with these two teams, anything could happen so it's not such a sure thing, but still a good bet with positive EV, imho). Waiting for the Patriots game to post on TheGreek before I make my big bets.

Points are tempting, but SF can't be trusted, especially on the road....Green Bay passed all over them like it was 7 on 7 drills. Rivers can make this get very ugly. But again, this is the NFL we are talking about.

Where do you guys get the idea that Gates is playing?
Everything I've read has him as doubtful.
Antonio Gates-TE- Chargers Dec. 15 - 3:42 pm et
Antonio Gates (feet) is officially listed as doubtful for Thursday night's game against San Francisco.
"Might as well be out," confirms beat writer Kevin Acee. "I always hold out hope with Antonio, but at some point you have to be realistic," said coach Norv Turner after Gates failed to practice on Wednesday. Randy McMichael will start against the 49ers, and qualifies as a low-end TE2 in fantasy leagues. Expect a bump in targets for Vincent Jackson on Thursday Night Football. Gates appears to be targeting Week 16 at Cincinnati to return. Source:Kevin Acee on Twitter Related:Vincent Jackson

Gates doubtful for Thursday: After not practicing all week, the Chargers listed TE Antonio Gates as doubtful for Thursday night's game vs. the 49ers. He's sidelined due to a painful plantar fascia tear in his right foot. Randy McMichael would likely start in Gates' place. "I always hold out hope with Antonio, but at some point you have to be realistic," head coach Norv Turner said according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Hmm, I'm guessing you guys are right. I read something yesterday saying that they thought he was going to play. Oh well, still think SD bangs this out by 2 td's

Gates will not play but it won't matter tonight. McMichael is a good 2nd option with Gates out but it won't matter tonight. Vincent Jackson is back but it won't matter tonight. San Diego rolls tonight no matter who is catching the ball as Rivers shreds the San Francisco defense even if they pull fans out of the stands to catch the ball.
Five things to watch when the San Francisco 49ers face the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium:1. The pregame inactive list.49ers linebackers Takeo Spikes and Patrick Willis wore casts on their injured hands this week.
A little BSPN. I like Mike Sando tho he's one for stats and good analyzing

Thats because they finally ran the ball well. SD is too inconsistent to keep that trend up IMO.
