America dumbest criminals back at it
Why in the hell do you steal 2 million in chips? Pretty sure the Bellagio has cash.

How in the hell are you going to launder even 1% of these chips?

LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas police are looking for an armed casino bandit who escaped on a motorcycle with perhaps $2 million worth of gambling chips from the posh Bellagio hotel-casino.

Police Lt. Clinton Nichols told The Associated Press the robbery happened quickly.

He says the bandit wore a full-face motorcycle helmet as he displayed a gun in a casino pit area then demanded chips and sped away on Flamingo Road on a black sport-style motorcycle.

Detectives are reviewing video and camera images of the robbery that occurred just before 4 a.m. Tuesday at the Las Vegas Strip resort.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

            Dumb

            he got away... didn't he?

If you weren't so liberal, you'd be able to bring to our attention so many better examples of "dumb" criminals... but that would go against your agenda...

            wouldn't it??

              Exactly!!

Well, if Oceans 11 taught us anything (or was it 12), he can always give the chips to strippers to wash for him. I actually think he'll make out ok money-wise unless they catch him. The $25k chips will be useless of course, but how many of them would have been at the table anyway? The rest of the chips can be slowly reintroduced to the Bellagio over time or through beards.

It happened about 4 am so it obviously wasn't too crowded; I'm thinking a casino employee or two was in on this.

They can change the chips. Probably have a new set waiting or in use by now.

Then the thief can hold on to them and sell them as collectibles in 50 years.

How do they do that though? Do casinos change chips every so often? I only ask because I've left Vegas with chips and returned the following year and either played them or cashed them in. If they change their chips after this incident, how do they prove that anyone else who had the same chips in play as the ones the thief stole (which theoretically would be every player at every other table), or those who even left the casino with them between that day and the last time they changed their chips is actually legit when they go to cash/play them at some point?
