"Based on multiple source accounts, a team meeting has occurred this evening in which Coach Bill Stewart has informed his team he will be stepping down as head coach after the bowl game. Dana Holgorsen, current offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, will replace him officially at that point.
Coach Stewart was offered one more year as head coach, provided Holgorsen serve as his offensive coordinator and head coach-in-waiting. This is an offer that Stewart refused and his tenure as head of the Mountaineer program will end after the playing of NC State in the Champs Sports Bowl on December 28...."

Feel bad for the guy but excited to get back some explosive offense here in Morgantown...

I never thought he was the right fit to run the program after Rich Rod. Holgorsen will restore innovation to a vanilla offense that West Va's been running the past few seasons.

Guy shouldn't even be coaching at the pee wee level. His famous quote for every game which he repeats numerous times during the game is "Lets go! "

Stewart just seemed "too nice" all the time. Even when he was pissed off, he didn't seem pissed off.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Holgorsen brings to the table...

Hopefully a lot of high octane offense is on its way to Morgantown!

I am feom West Virginia and I live in Morgantown..I am a huge Mountaineer fan..We need a change..Stew sucks..I want Bill Cower, wont happen,,,However, I don not think Holgorsen will be a good fit, but I hope so..

Stewart was a bad in-game coach, but you have to admit, he did improve the defense in his three years there. They were an embarrassment under Rodriguez, who has no clue how to play defense or hire a coordinator, as shown at Michigan.

The OSU coordinator is another offensive coach who won't help the defense.

horrid coach. even the commentators questioned him in so many games that i watched. no idea of time and has to call time-outs all the time to make simple decisions. so bad that i factored him in to bets that i made with WV
