During this part of the year I agree with you, very few games I can watch with interest. Once conference play starts I get more interested.

depends on what league you watch. the big ten is boring, and low scoring. the sec and big east is more fun to watch.

Years ago was even more of a drag. No three-point line the 45-second shot clock. Really sucked and was unwatchable for me.

Kidding right?
I love college ball. I just feel that they are out there fighting for the win right out of the gate. Much better Rivalry games in college than in NBA. Plus, I just feel that the NBA plays three quarters like, dur dah dur, and then each team checks the score in the fourth quarter at some point and decides wheather or not they will make a run at it... My 2 cents.

Both are boring until the Tourney rollsl around and the nba playoffs. Nba can be really slow at times during the reg. season.

Take the amount of money that you make in a week from your job, whatever that number is, and bet a side ATS: suddenly that boring game is going to get real interesting.
And that's a guaranteed way to make your college hoops experience more lively.
Or, I'll simply tell you what I told a former girlfriend as I sat on the couch watching MLB one evening: her: "I think baseball is boring". me: "well, MLB thinks YOU'RE BORING!"

The NBA has so many rules that promote scoring: longer games, shorter shot clock, more fouls per player, defensive 3 seconds, etc. The pro game tends to be more front court and iso-oriented while college places more emphasis on guard play and team ball. NBA players also have to be much more consistent shooters to make it in the league, while in college the fact that the average player can't hit a wide open jump shot more than 45% of the time is all the defense most teams need. The one and done/prep to pro era has sapped college basketball of some of its bigger, more athletic recruits. As a result, we've seen the proliferation of slow down, Princeton style offenses while NBA teams like to stay up-tempo. College tends to have a shortage of experienced officials which leads to some inconsistent foul calling.
Ultimately, I like college more. For one thing, the NBA tends to waste its talent because when teams play 82 games per year, they tend to take games off. I feel that makes a lot of NBA games tossups when they shouldn't be. In College, 70% of games are won by the home team, which is one of the reasons the RPI was changed to place such excessive emphasis on road wins (not that it matters, all the Missouri Valley teams that inflate their RPIs with road-heavy schedules rarely get at large bids anyway). A lot of schools place their student sections courtside rather than some no-name big spending VIPs. Conference play brings lots of quality matchups every single night (except Fridays anyway). And of course, there are 345 D-I teams playing 30 games a year which makes for a ridiculous amount of hoops, to say nothing of the NCAA tournament. The NBA Playoffs, on the other hand, just feel like they drag on while we wait for the inevitable Lakers/Spurs/Celtics/Heat final matchup.
In the end, I love me some college basketball, but I'll watch the NBA Playoffs after the tournament to kill time until the baseball season starts getting good.

Lol I agree it is boring, depends on which teams you watch though. If you watch a halfcourt team who pass the ball around the key for 30 seconds before shooting then its really boring. I like watching a team with a motion offense or a team that gets up and down the court.

You are insane JJ, college hoops is 10 times better than NBA. I would never watch an NBA game if I didn't have a bet on it, whereas as I could watch a college game just for the joy of the game, March Madness is the best sporting event in North America, better than the Super Bowl.
