Anybody get some great free stuff from strangers?

I was at the De La Hoya/ Mayweather fight last year. How you ask? I was standing in the mall area of the MGM grand watching celebrities walk by infront of my wife and I. The two that really stood out was Will Ferrel and Luke Perry.

Some dude aprroaches us, asking if we want to see the fight. We say no, cant afford it, its our second last night in Vegas(been there for 8 days, so we are getting low on funds). He says, they are free, some woman has tickets for us and was watching us, and we stood out like tourists, and if we are together, we can have the fight tickets..

1000 dollar ticket for each of us..wow..lots of thank yous and hugs and off for the coolest sporting event I ever attended.

That's actually pretty awesome. When I was 12 years old, we took the train out to Yankee Stadium, me and a couple kids from the neighborhood, money in hand from our summer jobs. Unfortunately, we were an hour late, the ticket booths were all closed, and we walked all the way around the whole stadium looking for some scalpers. Place looked like a ghost town. We then walked up to the back gate, gate 2 I think it is, and asked this old man with a Yankees polo shirt on, who was behind the turnstyle, if he knew of anywhere to get tickets? He said "No, all ticket booths are closed." The 4 of us then put our heads down and started to walk away, disapointed as hell. We're about 10 steps away from the turnstyle, and the next thing we here is "Hey kids, get ova here, I got 4 tickets that someone never picked up, get in here, hurry up before someone sees me." We all thanked the old man, and were soo happy to be inside the stadium, that we didn't even realize, they were 4th row down the third base line. Even better seats then when my father took me. We tried going back to the gate where the old man was during the seventh inning stretch, but he wasn't there anymore, we wanted to give the guy a cpl of bucks for at least a few beers after work or something. Other than that, I never get/got anything free in my life.
