We love basketball & Oprah

I meant to post this earlier in the week. This was in my local paper earlier this week.

How big is college basketball in the local ratings? Sunday's Kentucky vs. Tennessee and Louisville vs. Villanova games scored 153.000 and 160,000 homes, respectively , which is double what most prime-time shows get.
"Oprah's Big Give" was a big hit for ABC on Sunday, drawing 15.6 million. Locally, her show topped everything but "60 minutes" that night. peaking at 87,000 homes.

i also want to throw in that i don't watch Oprah, nothing against her, just don't watch her stuff.

i'm also curious about how they measure the viewership for people gathered at other people's homes, and how they account for all the people who watch at sports bars. we have a shit-load of sports bars in this town, and most are usually packed on game days.

I would give anything to see the Oprah episode where she gave the cars away=blunder

I don't watch Oprah and when I'm channel surfing I get a 20 second dose of her and it ruins my day.I would give anything to see the episode where she gave higher end luxury cars to the impoverished people making up the audience where they thought they were getting a gift.A gift!!!!!Ya,a gift that kept on giving in the form of poor people with government entitlement income suddenly having taxable income they couldn't afford!By all rights, by owning a 30K car you no longer should qualify for a lot of government programs.Then come income tax time,you have to pay the full suggested retail price taxes on the car and not the discounted dealer price that you haggle down to when buying a car.

Oprah wanted to look soooooooo good and the world's smartest woman was too stupid to realize that she should have worked out a deal with some dealer to give all these people perfectly great Chevy Cavaliers that were selling for about 10K total at the time.

I wish they would do a follow up on what happened to all these cars.Drive by's,DUI hit and runs,spouses running over spouses,30k car sold for 4k worth of crack.etc.etc.

How Oprah gets away with all her crap down through the years is beyond belief.If Reagan was called the tefflon president,Oprah should be called the tefflon celebrity with silicon sprayed on the tefflon.
