#72The Patriots are the best team in football right now and the Bears are NOT underrated. If anything they are overrated, they are not a legitimate 9-3 team. They may not even win their division, I think the Packers beat them in the rematch in Green Bay and the tiebreakers could get interesting considering a Green Bay win would leave the teams tied in head-to-head, division record and conference record as of now.
All of that said, the Bears could be a good play this week.
But that is only because of the situation, not because the Bears are anywhere close to the Pats talent wise.Comment -

#87Maybe a classic let down game for many NFL Teams but after their 1 let down game against the Browns, I don't see Belichick not having this Team ready for Chicago. This is a spot where he excells as a coach. With the way Brady is clicking with this offense right now, it's hard to bet against them, at least for me it is. I would also have a hard time betting that Cutler will outplay Brady, no matter where the game is. I don't think I could bet Chicago with a gun to my head.Originally posted by Double BogeyThis thread is a perfect example why the books are rich. #91agree with everything said here.Originally posted by Grits n' Gravyit is possible, but bears have won with smoke and mirrors. am always reluctant to put my money on jay cutler and mike martz. they've gotten some great officiating to give them 3 wins andi will give martz credit for pulling his head out of his ass and realizing his line sucks dog dick as pass blockers. mixing the run in keeps cutler from having to throw too often. when game falls on cutler's back you can kiss your money goodbye. kid has talent, but is this era's jeff george. a loser.
only concern backing pats here is a potential letdown spot. gotta think bill has them practicing crisp and do you really want to put your cash on lovie and martz vs. bill? that's the equivalent of siding with brock and lang vs. billy walters.
good luck to you all.Comment -

#95my data is my eyes and watching every game brady has played in the snow, mainly blowouts. he thrives in bad weather and in big games. if you are betting chicago you are hoping for a fluke letdown like what happened in cleveland and i had cleveland in that game. cutler is a southern boy and he has never won squat when it counted. this game is huge for chicago because they will need to win the division (likely) to make the playoffs with some tough games on the horizon at minny and green as well as the jets. i make fun of cutler a lot and most of it is just babble because he does have some talent but he makes too many mistakes. brady will not likely make a mistake and cutler will in my opinion. normally i like to bet against teams that just played like they did on monday night but not here, can't do it. pressure is on the bears, we will see where cutler is at after this one.Originally posted by d2betsDo you have some data or actual evidence about Cutler in the snow? #98Originally posted by statnerdsHow can anyone say they are too strong when they have the worst defense in the NFL?
Get tired of watching Pats games. Teams come out too conservative. Looks like 2007 again. You need to come out and attack this shit defense. Pats play a simplistic defense. Load up to stop run on first down, pressure in passing situations.
Yep, you called it NerdBoy. Steelers suck, Colts suck, San Diego Sucks, Jets suck and CLE is a perennial SB winner (According to your statement).
San Diego, statistically, has one of the best defenses in the league... how are they faring this season?
at your thoughts, superb insight and very well thought out post...

#100The funny thing is no matter how many times we try and tell people not to live week to week with these teams people still do. NE had 9 days to prepare for this game and Brady even admitted himself he got to prepare in ways he never has before. Now they only have 5 days to prepare for this game. NE is not that good and the Jets are not that bad. The Jets GAVE UP in the second half and the Pats wanted to make them pay, that is the only reason for the one sided score.Comment -

#105Most of those games were at Foxboro. Road game might be different. Plus, Brady's not alone here. I'm wondering if Green-Ellis has ever played a snow game? He might not have. Cutler grew up in Santa Claus, Indiana. He's not a southern boy. He's played in many snow and cold games. Off base there.Originally posted by thebestthereismy data is my eyes and watching every game brady has played in the snow, mainly blowouts. he thrives in bad weather and in big games. if you are betting chicago you are hoping for a fluke letdown like what happened in cleveland and i had cleveland in that game. cutler is a southern boy and he has never won squat when it counted. this game is huge for chicago because they will need to win the division (likely) to make the playoffs with some tough games on the horizon at minny and green as well as the jets. i make fun of cutler a lot and most of it is just babble because he does have some talent but he makes too many mistakes. brady will not likely make a mistake and cutler will in my opinion. normally i like to bet against teams that just played like they did on monday night but not here, can't do it. pressure is on the bears, we will see where cutler is at after this one.
Bears/Cutler are 5-0 since the bye/since Garza returned to make their O-Line intact. Cutler over 100 avg passer rating last 5 games with 10 TD to 3 INT and completing 66% and 53% 3rd down conversions. Been a whole new ballgame for the offense. 2 or 3 games may not a trend make, but 5 pretty much does. This is a different offense than what we saw early in the season. New England is still second to last in yards allowed per game. The Bears are gonna put up points here.
