Wow, are players on Ucla being paid money on the side or what?
The game had 1.5 secs left, Ucla up by 8, stanford stands around after their final shot, already conceding the lost to Ucla. Next thing you know, you see darren collison, I think goes running full speed to the other side of the court for a catch and layup. Ucla covers as time expires by 2 on that meaningless play.
So why would they do that? Stat padding, rubbing it in. I mean they're aren't really any good reason for Ucla to put up any more points against a team that has already conceded the win to them, and they aren't dumb enough not know that stanford is not going to get an 8 point play in 1.5 seconds.
This exact same scenario also happened when they played Washington state early in the season, where they covered on a last tenth seconds of play that had no relevant in the final outcome the game. They were up by 7, with like 4 second left in that one. Something shady is going on in UCLA basketball and somebody's getting paid on the side their. You can fool me once, but not twice.
