    Baccarat Question for Ganchrow
i am always pretty intrigued about this game because it seems really boring to play and i see shitload of asians playing it. I swear there gotta be some of kind of strategy that goes with this game. I did some research, I couldn't find any. counting cards in baccrat is pointless. So do you think there is a strategy for Baccarat at all?

does anyone know is there any casino in the world that offers Chemin de Fer? I travel a lot, so I am willing to go anywhere to play like james bond

Betting the banker every time is the only "strategy" worth employing in this mindless game. Depending on the number of decks used and assuming 5% commission, you can count on losing slightly more than 1% on every dollar you wager. There are certainly worse things you can do with your money in a casino but there are also better. If you firmly believe in luck and streaks then baccarat is the game for you along with a large proportion of the Asian gambling population. Pai Gow Poker is another game favored by Asian bettors.

There is a "strategy" in Chemin de Fer. However, much like blackjack, it's a strategy by which if you follow it then you will minimise your losses rather than maximise your winnings. Chemin de Fer has something in common with other table games in such a way that however you play the game (aside from taking advantage of things such as card counting in blackjack) then the house has the advantage everytime. Almost seems like a really good business model.

The Wizard Of Odds put together something on Chemin de Fer here:

Chemin De Fer is an antiquated version of baccarat and much-loved by James Bond. This page explains the rules and analyzes the odds.

Is there a strategy for Craps or Roulette? No. The only real decisions to be made in any of these games are how much to bet and on which wager. Some bets are "less bad" than others EV-wise and/or are associated with differing levels of risk, skew, etc.

All I know is when a bunch of Asians are taking over my roulette table pushing their way in and being rude. I go to a Baccarat table and plop my minimum bet right on their action. If you want to see pissed off Asians, wow.

They are definately the rudest group of people in the casino. I get along with everyone, but at the boat they are all over the place and knock you around if you are at the same table trying to spray their bets all over the damn place.
