Mine doesn't. She actually enjoys getting in on the action sometimes. Play a game together sometimes and she really gets into it. She doesn't really give a shit about the money, doesn't ask how I'm doing or anything, but she trusts me, so thats cool.

Exactly...Mine doesn't give a fuckk that I bet. She just hates it when it's 11 o clock at night, and Illinois gets a lucky TD last night and I do a wicked fist pump while she's sleeping next to me, and then yells at me to turn off the fuckkin TV. It's not my fault she had to be up at 6 for work.

Mine is great and you need to be totally upfront with it or she'll smell something is up. I used to wager far more on games than I do now but that usually comes from a prolonged losing streak. Money management is the biggest factor I need to work on.Comment -
yea She doesn't mind watching a game once in a while, but she can't sit there and watch 2-3 hours straight of football or basketball. She works every saturday so I get to watch football in peace, and I like that. And then she's off every Sunday, so we normally go out and watch the Bears game, then she comes home and takes a nap or lays down, so I can watch the other games, without her saying "lets watch a movie, or something else"
And I just pay the mortgage and she picks up all the other bills, So just as long as that get's paid, she don't care, and as long as we can take a trip to Jamaica every year, all is good. I'm stingy with my money anyways, so I don't go out and blow it on anything not needed.
Although I am going with the neighbor to watch the Oregon game, and I have about 600 riding on that, and all the other games have covered so far.Comment -

Its not that she has to be to work at 6am. Its that she has to get up to get pretty...just tell her its not your fault you can be ready in 20 minutes and out the door.

Back until about 8 or so years ago the wife helped with manually doing the numbers. We worked really well as a team back then and she would put in 3 or 4 hours each day early in the morning before I even got up during college baskets season. We did consistently well back in the day. She was also in charge of keeping our paperwork and ledgers.
Now in my mid 60's and since my battles with heart disease I'm totally recreational, bet nowhere near what I used to, and spend relatively little time handicapping. She no longer works with me, but is still very cool about it all.
I really should just retire completely, but I wouldn't know what to do with my time. The boredom would probably kill me for sure. She knows that. She knows it's a way of life for me/us, and helps mostly by encouraging me when I hit a losing streak. Always reminds me that I'll get it all back in due time and to take my time doing it.Comment -
