Tough times means cheap beer.Best cheap beer preferences anyone?
Milwaukee's Special Reserve 30 pack 12 ounce cans of Ice,full flavored or light $10.99 in my neck of the woods bought in Superior,Wisconsin. They give you a free 30 pack free if you buy20 -30 packs. It's made by a contract brewer that makes grocery store brands in La Crosse,Wisconsin. The old Heileman Brewery that used to make Chicago's number one beer, Old Style.I always buy the ice version because it has more alcohol.hehe! I still have sales slips from the late 80's where I used to buy 10 24 pack cases of really cheap moose piss long neck returnables for under $40 tax included. My how times have changed.

The warmer the weather, the better cheap beer tastes. And when beer is comped free on the house like in Las Vegas, why drink cheap beer when you can drink Heiny.

Anyone here have cheap beer preferences and what they cost in different parts of the country?

Some micro beer is really good, some is awful and it's fun trying them in Vegas for free but I have a hunch Yuppie micro brewery beer is really going to take a hit in hard times.

In my opinion,Sam Adams beer is the most overrated beer or overrated premium select elite product of anything in that category and I'm talking coffee, pizza, ice cream,etc.etc.etc.

I don't need beer that badly to force myself to consume cheap beer. I had enough of that in college.

Lone Star, the National Beer of Texas

But I only drink that at the ice house. Agree with RW that life is too short to drink cheap liquor if you can avoid it. Would much prefer a Boddington's Ale or a Shiner Bock when I'm sippin' at the house or in a proper pub.

Ballantines. It's cheap, it gets the job done, and my grandfather worked their for 30 years.

With all due respect sir, Sam Addams Winter Lager is a tasty treat. I don't think it can get much cheaper than a 6-pack of Bud cans....which is not a bad beer, in my opinion....at 4.99 + tax & deposit.

No need to go cheaper. Unless, once and a while you bust out a Private Stock 40oz. Gets you nice on a summer day for 2.35.l

Gotta go with some Steel Reserve or King Cobra when in a pinch.

Got a 12 of Steel Reserve last week for $6. Twice the alcohol in each beer, so it's like getting a case. Ain't so bad.

Bush Lite, 12.99 a 30. I still drink it at 13.99 a 30. they are doing away with my 30 packs and making them 24 packs.
