What,no choice of vinegar on the fries?I live about an hour south of the Canadian border and it's like going to a different world up there.Even at Mickey D's they give you vinegar packs for your fries.Comment -

After thinking about it for a couple hours I think ketchup was invented first. It makes sense. Create a useless product and when noone knows what to do with it market it to the greasy potatoe eaters and tell them it tastes good with them. In this way both industries, tomato and potato growers win.
I also believe that mayonesse was invented by the chicken farmers that didn't want their eggs to go bad but this will be the subject of a different debate.
Also don't forget the orange juice or the milk producers. They always tell you to drink OJ or milk because it does good to your body. Do they ever tell you it gives you heartburn and fat? No, they don't want you to know you get fat from drinking milk and juice.
Also smoking cigarettes helps you lose weight but I don't see a big campaign to promote smoking.Comment -
