It is very safe there. The US has their most strategic military base in the Middle East located in Doha, Qatar. As an American I'm glad they won the bid and I can't wait to go. The structures they're going to build for this event are mind blowing. Both Dubai and Qatar are probably the 2 coolest places you could ever visit. It's not Iraq and it's not Iran. And FYI for all you rednecks...it's pronounced "cutter" not "qua-tar"
