On a national and local level I have never seen an athlete get as much attention as he did when he retired.It was like Christ was showing up at a super market grand opening!Does anyone know why Favre went about retiring the way he did without giving a press conference?My hunch is that he didn't want to be seen bawling where it would ruin his manly image and future earning power endorsing guy stuff and being in hunting and fishing tv shows.etc.I think when he had his bout with pain killer abuse he did a press conference and broke down and he doesn't want to repeat that performance.Mike Schmidt had to have made the biggest ass wimp of himself crying the way he did during his retirement press conference.
Favre has to be the most sought after ex jock in history to be offered opportunities to move to another line of work.He's probably getting everyone from Hollywood to the Animal channel calling him to become the next Crocodile Hunter.
