we should play 'em every year. Used to be one of the biggest rivals. I don't understand it.

Xavier could get a 2 seed, imo, and is a legit threat to make it to the final 4. The vols win at Xavier was more impressive than their win at Memphis to me. Mem has more talent, but they can play an ugly brand of basketball for long stretches.

What about Texas ? 2 seed also never have understood how they put teams in regions. If 4 teams from east have same seed( no.1 for example) how do they decided who plays in what region?

imo Texas will still get a 1 seed if they win the big-12 tourney. They'll be a 2 at worst unless they embarrass themselves to end the season. Their RPI is still in the top 5 and their SOS ranks 3rd. They have plenty of big wins and i suspect they'll be rewarded for them.
as for the seeding, in round 1 they do it differently than they used to. they'll try to keep more teams closer to home. if the top 4 seeds are duke, mem, unc, tn, they'd adjust it and make ucla a 1 and put the other team in that group as a 2 closer to home. At least thats how i understand it.

UCLA/L'ville (two best teams in the country)
Duke/VCU (Maynor owns Paulus the sequel)
UCONN/UNC (because UCONN would be getting about 7 and would win outright)
UMASS/ND (both among the leaders in possessions per game. Total would be set around 175)
Baylor/Tennessee (see UMASS/ND)

Two of the most overrated teams. Unless you're a Duke fan (pretty sure you're not), why would you want to see Coach Kryzsjhgkjedhwsfkjdoicms's boys beat Butler by 20? Sure, there will be lots of threes attempted, but the game won't be competitive.

They also rank the seeds, so just as an easy example of location. If UNC and Duke are #1 & 2 in the country, they are obviously very close. They would not in this case make Duke a 2 seed, but would move Duke to the next closest region and UNC would get to stay to compete closer to home being the overall #1. Then if Duke moved to the team that would otherwise be #4 or so they might make that team a 2-seed and make a UCLA or team in another region a 1-seed.

I really look forward to seeing Memphis play superior competition once again for some reason. Their roster was loaded with top recruits and five star talent, but their average level of competition really holds them back in the long run I feel. It'll be very interesting to see them play starting from about the sweet sixteen onwards...

Memphis will never make the final four with FT shooting like that, it's just too destructive, with college BB's 1 and 1 rule (which is BS in my opinion, b/c it overly penalizes a team that shoots horrific from the FT line like Memphis and when they are in a close game and slightly ahead the other team can just start Hack-A-Player and half the time they will only get one point the other half they will get none). If Memphis ever makes 2 in a row at the line they oughta give em the game, it's the most pathetic FT shooting top-ranked team EVER IMO, why does Calipari not go over technique or say hey practice til you can make two in a row every once in awhile you're trying to win the NCAA Championship not your local Church League. The reason why Memphis was undefeated was CONFERENCE USA SUCKS, that's right they are all terrible!!! Any top 10 ranked team would have a great chance of going undefeated since their is virtually no competition hell the week before they lucked out against UAB to skirt away with a 1 pt win. Anyway Memphis is however legitimately a top 8 team and that is where they will finish when they face another top 8 team which will make them pay at the line like Tennessee did, that game by the way was just stomach turning (foul....miss front end, foul... miss front end, foul... miss front end, meanwhile announcer is so impressed that Tennessee's staying in it, hell all they were doing was fouling and watching Memphis miss until Lofton finally made a few shots at the end, what a joke).
