I have never celebrated Christmas in my life. Never had a Christmas in my home. Over the years, I have given different girlfriends Christmas presents though but it's always Channukah and lighting of the Menorah for me. There are not many Jews where I live. I miss Cote Saint Luc very very much! I would love to be in that kind of surrounding on a daily basis. It's my dream.

it's true.. Christmas is mostly for kids. i remember being a kid and life couldn't have been any better around early december when we couldnt wait to open our presents that were under the tree for weeks and then meeting santa claus.. xmas is a kids dream.. but as adults now, xmas is strictly business.. it's only spending spending spending and buying nephews, sons, daughters, nieces all gifts.. it's no longer what it used to be when we were 4-9 yrs old, where we had 8 gifts under the tree waiting for us. The only joy i get out of xmas is hearing carols that i used to hear when i was 7 and loving life. it takes me back to when i was a kid and the great memories. but come to think of it, xmas mostly sucks for most of us, especially us gamblers who are very anti social and hate going to see relatives.. unlike when we were kids, we loved going to visit cousins and uncles.. etc. now we just want to be in front of the bowl games and NBA games and stay home.

flyer, i've always loved that video. adam sandler is awesome. it's hilarious. every jew here loves this song. it's a big hit here. the rabbis love it. I heard it once blasting outside a synagogue. true story.

94% of sbr posters will hate christmas.. you know why?? because christmas in general is for the very stable and happy people.. it's the working man that has 1 or 2 kids, lives in a big house with a white picket fence, or even an apt...has the perfect wife, perfect kids, has money and has a great paying normal everyday job.. iow, he is fully together. he's mature, responsible, loveable, and hard working and loves his family to death and is NOT a gambler with an addiction. He's normal and so are his family..

Whereas SBR posters consist of mostly abnormal people who really are not fully together. we are fukkin gamblers. we do this everyday of our life. most of us have no kids, not married and never will be. this is our life. it's our addiction and no normal woman will ever want to marry a gambler. we are no different than alcoholics, or heroin addicts. it's tough living with a gambler. it's like living with an alcoholic. we have mood changes, we are irresponsible and immature and selfish and self centered. we are in the 2% minority. we are not regular happy people like those happy families that have 34 gifts under the xmas tree on dec 1st. i bet no one here has put up xmas tree or lights up yet. Most of us dont mind xmas only because of bowl games. how sad is that??

That's why 94% of us hate xmas. because we are not fully there. most of us have problems, whether we want to believe this or not. If we were normal, we woudln't be doing this everyday of our lives. instead we'd be working real jobs, be married, have 2 kids and take care of them.. but we choose to live this addictive life.

Is this a happy time for us? I don't think Gamblers like xmas in general. we are like hermits. We are fukkin addicts. we are like Crack Addicts. we're involved in a major addiction and we hate people in general. we prefer to be alone and gamble rather than be with family.

Be honest, who here is happy xmas is here and who here hates it and can't wait till it's over?? I'm right in the middle. i like it alot, I eat good food, I love the songs, etc..but I also can't wait till it's over.

Yesterday I spent 685....unhappy, but deals kept popping up throughout the day. I still need to get my brothers baby a gift and them a gift card. I need to get my parents a gift certificate to a nice restaurant. I hate xmas.

I love XMAS!! It will be my first Christmas for my son and its just an overall great time of the year. I would never put my family 2nd behind gambling thats just stupid. Sports betting is the only type of gambling I do and to me its nothing more then a hobby. I love going to the relatives house and having lunch, dinner, and everything else.

From Dec. 1 until Jan. 2 is probably the best time of the year

boys, if you notice, if you are going through a break up, or divorced, or you're not healthy, or you have no money... or you're just depressed..YOU HATE CHRISTMAS. in past xmas's, if my ex gf and i would break up around xmas, or i'd be losing money gambling, or you lose a loved one, you cannot bear to hear xmas music. i'd shut it off fast. it's really a depressing time when you hear this music and you're not happy. you just want to be alone and you want xmas to end fast.

however, if you're a little kid, or IF you have kids, and your life is going great. you're in love. you have a great wife/gf, both of you are shopping for each others gifts. you cant wait to buy her a gift to make her happy or you are making tons of money gambling, basically, your life is going good, then you absolutely love xmas. when you hear white christmas on the radio, instead of changing channel, you blast it and sing along.

when you're happy, nothing beats xmas. when your life is not going that good, you hate it..

I have a beautiful wife that came from a family with wealth and my dad owned his own construction company and when he passed me and my brother sold it for a nice chunk of change. Money has never been an issue for me and I can honestly say I'm very grateful for that. Just had my first son in March so I'm looking forward to Xmas for that reason alone! Love buying my my nieces and nephew Christmas presents and the whole Santa Claus and reindeers stuff still makes me giggle. Maybe I'm a queer but the whole Holiday spirit is still in me even at 31 years old. It literally is the best time of the year!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading something that your from Montreal or something? I'm from Toronto area myself. I think its just in us Canadians that still love the Holiday spirit. Oh, and watching the Under 21 World Jrs on TSN starting on Boxing day just adds to the tradition.
