I'd be careful with Duke tonight. K-State is the type of physical athletic team that Duke tends to struggle with.
Some other points I'd note:
1) Duke didn't shoot the ball particularly well against Marquette last night, and it wasn't exactly because of Marquette. Historically Duke does not tend to shoot well in big arenas. I think this is probably due to the contrast with the smaller confines at Cameron. This has been an ongoing problem for Duke shooters for years, the only player I can remember not being consistently affected by it was Redick. But he was still always a much better shooter in Cameron than any other arena, outside of maybe Madison Square Garden.
2) This makes two games in two days for both K-State and Duke. K-state waltzed in a blow-out over a solid Gonzaga squad. Duke got out early, but then struggled to put away Marquette until the final minutes. K-State had 10 players play 10 minutes or more, and another that played 5. Duke played only 9 guys total. And one of those guys played just one minute. Whereas K-state had ZERO guys play more than 30 minutes, Duke had four. Singler played 38 minutes. Smith 35. Irving 34. Plumlee 32.
Conclusion: K-state will be fresher than Duke, which means Duke won't be able to pounce on them early, but it also means Duke won't be able to close them out late, as K-state will have more in the tank. Duke will struggle shooting jump shots due to tired legs, but also won't be quick enough to easily exploit K-state in transition. Which means Duke will have to win in the half-court. But Irving is not yet ready to take on that role that Scheyer played so well last season. K-state is going to keep running and running and running. This will keep the game frantic and tight, but also means Coach K will be less likely to go deep into his bench. Just like last night. Which means Singler/Smith are going to struggle with their energy levels down the stretch. And being that they are the go to guys, Duke is going to have a hard time scoring points. Which means K-state probably wins the game in the final four minutes.

I always love the back to back games angle in college hoops. They are 18 years old, they got some sleep. They are 100%. Not saying Kansas St. isnt a good play. Just saying"This is why my basketball intelligence is unmatched on this site. I'm sure there are better cappers but no one can tell you the strategies of most coaches before the game even starts "

K State commits the most foul in the country, Duke shoots well from the line. K State shoots horrible at the foul line when they get there. I think Duke rolls.Comment -
Duke not AS vunerable to getting banged on the inside as they were. Now, they do miss the big Z in the middle but the Plumlees can bang with the best of them. And I dont think they are AS vunerable to outstanding quick point guard play as they have been in the past.
All that said, I'm a Duke fan, too and I think K-State ML is the play, also..

a lot of people saying DUke struggled last night in the second half, thats Duke's game. Get a lead and spread the court to burn time off the clock. Coach K did not feel marquette was a threat, when they got close Duke ran it back up to around 13 and spread the court again.Comment -

I am a DIE HARD and duke fan and i would advise people to stay away from them tonight. they always struggle in early season high matchups. Duke tends to play down, or up, to its opponent and never seem to bury good teams, so i see this game being close throughout.Comment -
