Thinking About Buying an American-made Car
I always told myself that I'd never buy an American car for as long as I lived, but then I realized how ignorant I was to make such a close-minded statement.

Over the past 4-5 years it seems like the American cars have improved drastically. Is it okay to buy American now?

Cheap, safe, decent performance and kind of cool looking: http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com...d_Escape/2009/

Even cars made in America are using some parts made in other countries.

I would say it depends on the type of car. American trucks are great but there are just too many cars out there to limit yourself to an American car. Unless you just like it.

In general I wouldn't touch an American car. It's just that I found one car in particular that I really like and it just so happens to be American-made. My question for y'all is if that should be a deal breaker or not.

hyundai has definitely improved its quality in the past couple of years.. as for american, they are still pieces of shit.
everytime i see a car broken down on the side of the road, it's always american-made (and it's not always that old of one either).

I would not say it's a deal breaker. I have owned three, an 89,01,05 and they were all good cars. I am currently hooked on Germans but I do think American cars have improved over the years.
