The funeral is all over. A message to all. Got my fathers autopsy results
The funeral and everything is over. It's been a zoo around here, so many people in and out it was unreal. The visitation had around 1,000 people show up, it just shows how many people my dad knew/helped in his life.

Anyways, it turns out my dad had 75%-95% blockage in ALL his arteries, caused from heart disease.
My dad never had any signs, nothing. The day before be died he was on the roof getting the leafs out of the gutters and mowed the lawn. He had no signs like I said it's unreal.
    Two things guys.
    1. My dad was 65 years old in great shape. With no warnings or nothing, he had these major problems. 4 weeks ago he went on a 20 mile bike ride! Guys.....get checked!!!! I know we have some guys in there 50s+, so get checked even if you have no signs like my father. Go get a stress test on your heart and a angiogram(sp?)
    2. Us younger guys, even you older ones. Be nice to your family! My dad and I had a great relationship, was like my best friend. But for those of you who aren't close with your mom/dad, get close! They could be gone tomorrow.....and you'll wish u got to say "I love you".

God bless you all guys. My life feels like it has a whole new meaning now.

This is an excellent point...I can't tell you how many people I've come across in my life that say they "don't talk to their parents anymore". I just never understood it...seems crazy to me.

It's an overwhelming feeling see that many people at his celebration of life. It's a proud feeling knowing how much people our father has touched, yet sad because many people won't get to know him. I'm just speaking from experience with my mother. You father seemed like a great man.

Yes guys never take anything for granted. God bless you too Iwin

I hope you are doing well Iwin. I haven't seen or spoken to my Mother in 16 years. I am going to San Francisco for Thanksgiving and I will be seeing her. I guess it's the right thing to do. God Bless your family Iwin.

Lost a manager at work {53} the exact same way last week. He had just had a clean report from a physical. 80% blockage triggered a heart attack while on the way to watch a college football game. It makes you wonder.

Pretty scary...my dad is also 65, has had some problems with blockage in his arteries. Had one surgery, but it didnt go very well, they found similar blockage even afterwords. He too does all the outdoorsy stuff and such...its a very scary thought.

It sounds like your dad was a good guy, so thats something to be proud of. Stay strong.
